Artist Statement
Human beings have seemingly endless possibilities for expression and interaction. From early on I was captivated by the complexities of the human form and structure. I have always drawn people, studied people, watched how they moved on stage and street, and explored expression with film and photography. So when a professor handed me a big roll of wire, it seemed natural to take my study of the human figure into the third dimension.

Little did I know at the time, but that roll of wire would become a passion and my primary choice of expression.

Balance (or lack there-of) has always been central to my work. I love to learn from the dancers, athletes and acrobats of the world. Techniques in wire sculpture are not set in stone. One must follow your own rules and listen to the heart.

There have been many commissions and requests over the years, some large some small. Through those experiences I've explored everything from animal anatomy to architecture. However, no matter what tangents I find myself on, I always end up going back to the human figure and its many intricacies.
